Don't Miss Jesus

Hello all!
First for some transfer updates: Sister Semenyuk and I are staying together here in Westchester 1. It's crazy to think that this will be my last transfer. Sometimes it still seems like I just left the MTC! What's interesting though (because something interesting always happens with transfers) is that they will actually be splitting our ward in half, so we have to work out a boundary with the new Sisters who will be coming in. They will also be living with us, which should be kind of fun! It's gonna be tight though. ; ) We're waiting for the Housing missionaries to come right now with a bunch of bunk beds and some extra desks and chairs.

Favorite Spiritual Thought:
Alma 15:17. Usually in the Book of Mormon, when the Nephites are praying for deliverance from Satan, it's because there is an army of angry Lamanites coming for them and they have recognized that they need the Lord's help. What I loved about this scripture so much was that this took place in a time of peace. The people had recognized their pride and humbled themselves because they realized that they needed to be better. They were praying continually for power against Satan because they knew he was in their daily lives, and they didn't want him there anymore.
It is important to always seek strength and direction from the God, not just when it's obvious that we need His help. In all honesty, we Always need his help. When we are humble enough to accept that, it prepares us for harder times and allows us to have a greater relationship with God.

Favorite Miracle:
We watched the Restoration with the Buss family on Tuesday, and it seemed to help Brother Buss a lot! It's amazing to see how talking about the first vision just brings the spirit so naturally. He finally agreed to start reading the Book of Mormon with the rest of his family.
We also got to meet with a woman named Glori, and her kids. She's a returning member whose husband is not a member but is willing to come to church with her. She stopped going to church around age 16 and has decided to come back. We talked about the Atonement of Jesus Christ with her and watched the Because of Him video with her little son. The Spirit was so strong as we talked about how she is a daughter of God. She really wants to come back, and is developing the faith to do so! It's so amazing to see people change when they feel the Spirit!

Favorite Funny Thing:
We tried to stop by a woman this week at the bottom of our area, but when we found the address, it led to a large church building with a gift shop attached to it. We thought it was kind of weird, that either someone who worked in the store must have just put a work address or the address might have been wrong all together. We had her phone number though, so we gave her a call a day or two later and got our answer. It went to voicemail, where we were greeted by some boisterous lady's voice, saying, "You just missed Sabrina.. But Don't Miss Jesus!!" The voicemail message then went off on this big speech about how we can only be saved through the grace of Jesus. So the address led to the church because she's a minister there!

I know that in the strength of the Lord, we can do all the things He asks of us. Sometimes those things are harder than we would like. But He knows his plan. He loves us, and He is always willing to help us.
Love you all!
