Suprise!

Hello everyone!
Surprise! They moved our P-day to Thursday this week and didn't tell us until Sunday night. To any of those who felt abused, neglected, or forgotten, I apologize. ; )
That's not the only surprise of the week for me though. On Wednesday of last week, I got a call from the mission president saying that there was going to be an emergency transfer. Sister Flinders got sent up to Hollywood, my last area, and I am now training Sister Semenyuk! It was a crazy day of unexpected packing and a whole lot of driving, but we're all settled now. Sister Semenyuk is from Kazakhstan and Russia. She is 23 and is learning English, and she's doing a super great job. It's so much fun to serve with her! I've been having fun teaching her a lot of things about America like how to order at a fast food restaurant and what the Super Bowl is. It's been a really cool experience so far, and it's just another witness to me that the Lord really does guide our transfers. If I hadn't been in the Russian program for the two more recent transfers, it would have taken me so much longer to catch up on the culture, but the Lord allowed me to prepare in more ways than one so that I can help this sweet Sister. God really does have a plan for us, and He knows what He's doing!

2 Nephi 26: 27-28, 33
The Gospel is truly for all of God's children. He loves us and wants all of us to return to Him. All should have the chance to come unto Him. 

Favorite Spiritual Moment:
We were stopping by some people last night and met a nice man named Abel who was unloading his truck. We asked if we could help, and he said no but started talking with us anyway. He is very active in his faith, but we got our have a good discussion with him about Jesus Christ. It was cool to be able to testify of the Savior to him and to know that he knew it too. He wasn't interested in meeting with us, at least not yet, but he did take our phone number. I'm glad that we could help him to know that we believe in Jesus Christ too. 

Favorite Funny Moment:
Sister Semenyuk shared a joke with me. She said, "You can pet a bulldog only twice in your life. Why? Because you only have two hands."

I love you all and hope this week is great! Keep watching for those little miracles. The Lord's hand is in our lives always.

Hey everybody! With it being Fathers Day on Sunday, I just wanted to tell you all how grateful I am for my dad. He's really so amazing. He is such an amazing example to me, and I have learned so much from him. It is such a blessing to have such an amazing father in my life. I know that I am so blessed. Cool Scripture: One I liked from this week was 3 Nephi 18:10-12. It's about the sacrament and how important it is. I like how it mentions that if we always remember Him, we will have His Spirit to be with us. It just was cool to look at it that way.  No letter from Jessica this week, as she was traveling to her mission, but we did receive these two quick e-mails from the Mission office, and Mission President's wife.... Hello Parents of our great California San Fernando Mission, Your missionaries have arrived safely.    They are with their companion and off to their areas.    I will email a message from Sister Henrie with a picture of your missionary and President and Sister Henrie tomorrow. Happy Thanksgiving!

Hey everyone! I know that Thanksgiving already happened, but this is the only chance I have to say it, so you get to hear it again: Happy Thanksgiving! Wherever you are, I hope it wasn't as hot for you as it was here: it's been 90+ degrees pretty much all week except for today and yesterday, and on Thanksgiving it was 95 for part of the day. Man, I miss Utah weather. ; ) I hope everyone is doing well. Here's my favorites for this week: Favorite Spiritual Moments: Our awesome investigator, Stephen, got baptized this week! He married his wife Naomi at 11:30 am on Saturday, and then his baptism was at 4 later that day. It was so awesome! He and his wife Naomi are planning on going through the temple together a year from now, and I truly believe that they'll make it. They are so awesome. Sister Reynolds and one of her old companions and I got to teach the Plan of Salvation lesson right after the ordinance, which was really cool since Stephen is the first membe...
