Happy Thanksgiving!

Hey!
Happy Thanksgiving to you all! I hope that everybody has a really good holiday!

Favorite Scripture:
I have been asked to give a talk on the new Home Centered Church Supported thing in a couple of weeks, and found this scripture that I thought was really good: 3 Nephi 17:3. I liked how it talked about going to our homes and pondering the things that we've been taught, praying about it, and seeking further understanding. That's what this is all about. I think it's really cool that the church wants to help us to deepen our personal conversion to following the Savior. After all, this is His church and His gospel. We need to know that for ourselves. The end of the verse talks about how He is going to come again, to share more with us. I thought about that like the second coming, and how we know that these are the last days. I know that this new concept can help to strengthen and prepare each of us for the Second Coming!

Favorite Miracle:
This was really simple, but I liked it anyway. We had a really early dinner yesterday, and when we got there, we still had about 15 minutes before it was supposed to start. We decided to walk around on the street up from us, to do some street contacting. While on that larger street, I got a really subtle impression to turn right, onto another street. We did so, and met these three guys who were smoking weed in their car. Since they were high and were flirting with us and stuff, I figured that there must have still been someone else that the Lord wanted us to meet. We walked just a little bit further up the street and got to talk to this guy who is super faithful, but who also was really open. It was cool to see that the Lord could give us such simple direction to help us to know what to do with those few minutes.

Favorite Funny Thing:
Until last Monday, Sister Howard had never had Chick-fil-A. I took her there and accidentally created an addict. ; ) But anyway, we were driving past the Chick-fil-A that we are blessed (and cursed) with having in our ward boundaries a couple of days later, and we just commented on how good it smelled. Sister Howard then said something like: "It smells so good. If Chick-fil-A was a perfume, I would wear it."

Other Stuff:
Our ward had a Thanksgiving party on Friday, and we had been inviting a whole bunch of people to it. Very few of those people actually came, but among those that did were almost our entire English class! It was super fun because they all got together at a table with the members of the ward who spoke Russian and just had a really good time.

I have to go, but I hope that everyone has a really good Thanksgiving and a great week! I love you all!
Love,
Sister Garfield
