Wait, there's more?!

Hey guys. ; )
Favorite miracle:
Lately we've been reading Preach My Gospel with Emilio about once every two weeks, helping him prepare for his mission. This week, we were planning on having him practice teaching the restoration with Sister Jenkins, to me. Last minute though, we weren't able to meet at the church and he had to move the lesson back an hour, so we ended up meeting at his house, right after his mom got home. We went in and knew that we needed to do the Plan of Salvation instead, so we started the roleplay with him and realized that Emilio's parents were going to sit through the whole lesson! It was super cool. I roleplayed as someone who had the same basic beliefs as his mom, to try to help answer her questions, even if she didn't feel like asking them herself. We went all the way through the Atonement of Jesus Christ before we finished, and at the end, Emilio's dad asked a question about the kingdoms of glory, so we got to read out of 1 Corinthians with them, showing his mom that we believe in the Bible too! So basically, we second-hand taught his mom the plan of salvation. Emilio was so happy. It was really cool to see the way it worked out.

Favorite scripture:
This wasn't any specific verse necessarily, but I was reading in Mosiah this week and realized how much I like reading Abinadi's prophecies. I've decided that Abinadi is like the Isaiah of the Book of Mormon, not because he quotes him a lot and not because he's hard to understand, but because of the relationship he has with the Savior. It was a great, spiritual personal study getting to know Jesus Christ better. I would recommend it to all of you!

Favorite funny thing:
The Alfarros never cease to surprise me. We were having a lesson with Jason outside in his front yard a couple of days ago, with their two dogs, Naughty and Lucy, just wandering around. I had a glass of water or something that I had set down, and we were just talking about gospel stuff. All the sudden, Jason's eyes got super huge and he just shouts, "no, not that one!" We turned to see what he was looking at and see this third dog sprinting blindly at us from their backyard, barking madly. The poor thing ran straight into the glass of water and then kept going in circles. Apparently this dog actually is completely blind. As we were trying to figure out where this dog came from, two more of the exact same kind of dogs came running from the back also, slipping right past us, through their gate, and out onto the street, with Naughty and Lucy following right behind them. Jason pretty much dove for the blind one, since it was trying to get us, and then he sprinted out the gate to round up the rest of them. In came this herd of all four dogs, plus the one he was holding already. Apparently they all belong to the Alfarros, and the three we hadn't known about had escaped from the backyard. Add that to the two puppies that they haven't sold yet and that's a total of seven of these dogs, all exactly the same breed, and most of which are related to each other. Jason just held the blind dog for the rest of the lesson, and the other four were just like, circling around us the whole time. It twas a little distracting, to say the least. ; )

Thank you all for your prayers! I'm so grateful for you guys.
Love,
Sister Garfield
