A Mighty Change of Heart
Hey
everybody!
I hope that you all
have had a good week! Ours wasn't too out of the ordinary, but it was still a
pretty good one.
Favorite Spiritual
Moment:
For this person's privacy,
I'm not going to say exactly who this was, but one of our recent converts broke
down in front of us the other day because she's really struggling with a member
of her family who she just wants to help, but she doesn't know what to do. Now,
that sounds really depressing, and we did what we could to help her figure out
the situation, but the cool part was how much light she had with her throughout
this whole experience. When she was telling us about what was going on, it was
really interesting, because we could just see her soul aching for this family
member, because she knows how much the gospel has blessed her and helped her
with the same problem the family member is going through, and she just wants to
help them to have the same blessings. I thought back to when I first met her
and she was learning about the gospel. She was a pretty good person then, but
it has been amazing to see how her countenance has truly changed since getting
baptized. Sometimes she looks like a completely different person, and she just
glows with the Spirit. She wants to serve a mission someday, and I know she'll
do an amazing job. She is going to help so many people. She literally just
glows with the Spirit, and it is so amazing to see how the gospel has changed
her life. It's one of my favorite things about being a missionary, to see
people truly have a change of heart. I love this gospel so much.
Favorite Service
Opportunity:
We got to take part in
a double-zone service opportunity this weekend with the Granada Hills Zone!
There is a large house in Chatsworth that is being converted into a shelter for
up to 13 homeless families. We got to go help get it ready to open in a couple
of weeks, and it was a lot of fun. It was mostly just cleaning up dust from
construction and picking up a bunch of leaves outside, but it was so cool to
see how the people running it were so grateful for our help. The man in charge
asked us to pray with him before we started, and one of the Granada Hills Zone
Leaders said the prayer. It is so amazing to see how united people can be with
the Lord on their side.
I hope everybody has
such a great week! Keep smiling, keep praying, and trust in the Lord.
Love,
Sister Garfield

Apparently on the 31st of every month that has a 31st, Baskin Robbins has a half off sale. Who knew? |
