The Gospel is for Everyone!

Hey Everybody!
This week, we went on two exchanges! It was pretty fun, but it's going to be really nice to have both of us in our area all week. We had a lot of fun with the other sisters though! 

Favorite Spiritual Thought:
At church yesterday in Gospel Principles I think, we were talking about working hard and being self reliant, while relating it to the gospel and how God can help us. When we were talking about how our attitude affects our work, someone told a story that went something like this: "Three men were once working in a quarry, very hard, all day long. They all had the same job. When asked what he was doing, the first man responded, 'I am cutting stone.' The second one was asked the same question, and said, 'I am earning three gold pieces per day.' The last one said, 'I am helping to build the House of the Lord.'" This caught me crazy off guard, but I thought it was super awesome.

Favorite Miracle:
When we went to sacrament meeting in West Hills this week, there was this random deaf man that showed up unannounced! Sister Jarvis was able to talk to him and get his information. How amazing is it that the ward he showed up in had someone who could interpret for him?

Other stuff:
This week, I had dinner with two Filipinos and then two Mexicans, a lesson with this guy from Vietnam and then this guy from Iran, met a couple of Cambodian members in the YSA ward, and spent most of my Friday talking in Spanish to people from 5 or 6 different south american countries. The gospel is truly for everyone! I love how world-wide the church is.

Hey everybody! With it being Fathers Day on Sunday, I just wanted to tell you all how grateful I am for my dad. He's really so amazing. He is such an amazing example to me, and I have learned so much from him. It is such a blessing to have such an amazing father in my life. I know that I am so blessed. Cool Scripture: One I liked from this week was 3 Nephi 18:10-12. It's about the sacrament and how important it is. I like how it mentions that if we always remember Him, we will have His Spirit to be with us. It just was cool to look at it that way. Since we've picked them all up at different times, we wanted to review the Restoration again before the first few get baptized, but we wanted to do it a little differently than usual. Hey guys! Favorite quote/scripture: DC 64: 33-34. I don't have time to type it out, so go look it up. I like how it talks about this work. I want to give my whole soul to the Lord as I go about doing His work. This is important. I want to make sure that I give my all. Favorite funny moment: So this wasn't like a laugh out loud moment or anything, but more of just a cool thing. We had a two week training follow up for all of the trainees and their trainers last Tuesday. One of the missionaries that came in with Sister O'Bourke is from Thailand. I'm not even going to guess at how to spell her name. She's still learning English, but she's been doing really good. Now that it wasn't her first day, I introduced myself again. Normally when I tell people my name, if they say it back to me to make sure that it's right, I say something like "yep, like the cat." She sounded it out to make sure she was saying it right, and I told her she got ...

Hey everyone! I hope you all are doing well! Thank you for your prayers and your support; I am so grateful for all of you! Here's this week's favorites: Favorite Quote: Jacob 4: 11-12. This one is too long for me to take the time to type out, so you all have to go look it up. I came across this scripture during personal study the other day and seriously had this "have I ever read this before in my life" moment because it was so good. The line that I do really love that I will type out is "for why not speak of the atonement of Christ." The Atonement of Jesus Christ is the greatest gift anyone could ever give, and our Heavenly Father gave it to us because He love us more than we can even begin to comprehend. He sent His son, because He wants us to be able to return home to Him. We have this amazing, wonderful blessing of a gift in our lives, and we are blessed to know about it.
