Dante's Inferno

Hey everybody!

Favorite scripture:
This is probably in Isaiah too, but I don't have time to try to find it, haha: 2 Nephi 8:12, and also a few verses after that, but mostly twelve. I liked this because the Lord is trying to help us to know with such confidence who He is. Because if we know who He is and what He's done for us, we have no reason to fear anyone or anything. He is the one that comforts us.

Favorite spiritual thing:
Brother Alfarro and his oldest son passed the sacrament on Sunday! It was so cool to see. Then, after church, the son went with the other priests to do in-home sacraments and blessed it for the first time too! It's so cool to keep seeing people progress.

Favorite funny thing:
Sister Trujillo and I had to drive to a meeting in LA this week, and we had to leave pretty early in the morning, when everyone was still driving to work. First off, it took a ridiculously long time to drive about 15 miles, but what was funnier was the cars we passed on the way there. All the cars heading away from LA, towards the suburbs for work were definitely cars meant for working and also for families; lots of Semi-trucks, minivans, and pickup trucks full of landscaping tools or pool-cleaning supplies. Meanwhile, all the cars heading toward LA were super nice and expensive. I think there was one point where we were surrounded by a mercedes, a porche, a mazzerati, an audi, a few bmws, a couple of sports cars, and a few other crazy ones. It was exciting.

Other stuff:
It got so hot this week! I knocked doors in at least 116 degree weather on Friday. It was fantastic. ; ) Also, some of the Sisters in our zone walked past a tree as it spontaneously combusted (I'm serious; the tree literally started burning and they had to help put it out. Somebody called the fire department and everything), and some Elder's sent us a picture that their car showed the temperature being 136 degrees. Obviously it wasn't entirely accurate, but I think their caption, Dante's Inferno, fit rather well.
Also, if everyone could please pray for our investigator named Jason, we would really appreciate it. He's having some serious struggles with the Word of Wisdom, and we just want to help him.
I hope everybody has a super great week!

Love,
Sister Garfield

Dante's Inferno. Obviously the car's thermometer is a little off though. ; )
