New Week, New Investigators

Hey everybody!

Favorite scripture:
I'm going to steal one from my awesome mom this week.
Amos 8:11-12: "Behold, the days come... that I will send a famine in the land, not a famine of bread, nor a thirst for water, but of hearing the words of the Lord: And [people] shall wander from sea to sea, and from the north even to the east, they shall run to and fro to seek the word of the Lord, and shall not find it."
My mom shared this with me because she knew that we'd be a little low on investigators after the baptism, as a reminder that there are lots of people out there who are seeking the word of God. This scripture is about the apostasy, and how there were people then who could not find it, because the gospel wasn't restored yet. Well, it has been now! And what a blessing it is. I am so glad that I get to help people who are searching for the truth. It's really amazing to see the miracles that the Lord brings to pass every single day.
(This is a little off topic, but we had two different people this week basically explain exactly how the apostasy happened while we were talking to them. That was really interesting, because they were trying to use it against us, when we agreed completely with what they were saying and even had more details to add to it. ; )

Favorite miracle:
After the big baptism we had last week, our investigator pool dropped by quite a lot. ; ) We had like no investigators. ; ) So this week we focused really heavily on finding. Our zone helped us out by all knocking in our area one day, and we actually did a zone fast this week to help each area with what it's in need of. It is really cool to be part of a zone that wants to work together and be unified. Well, it seems like it worked! Between the blitz, picking up a couple of part member families, and some stellar street contacting on an exchange, we found 9 new investigators this past week! It was super great. The Lord is just showering so many blessings down on us. We don't even know what it is that's causing Him to want to send all these miracles, but we sure are grateful for them!

Other stuff:
Two of the Alfarro girls and Emilio went to youth conference this week. While they were there, they all got to do baptisms for the dead for the first time, in the Saint George temple! They all loved it. It was super great. : )
Also, I'll be an LA missionary next time you get an email from me. Weird. ; ) Just as a reminder, my new address is:
1591 East Temple Way
Los Angeles, California 90024
You guys are awesome!

Love,
Sister Garfield
