Yep. We knock the no soliciting signs.

Hey y'all!
Favorite Scripture:
Alma 7: 14-15
This is not the Alma 7 scripture I normally quote, so go look it up anyway family. ; )
Lately I've been studying baptism because I think that a lot of people don't realize how important it really is. I think that for a lot of us who are born in the church, when we're baptized at 8, all we think about baptism is "oh, my primary class is getting baptized and I'll get to see my cousins and we'll have cake," but it's so much more important than that. Baptism is literally the act that opens the gate to the celestial kingdom. It may not be the only saving ordinance, but you can't receive any of the other ones until you are baptized. It's the first step. I liked this scripture because it talks a lot about desire and willingness to serve God, and the covenants we make at baptism.
Favorite Miracle:
We got a new investigator named Gabriel this week who was a self referral. Instead of waiting for us to contact him, he called us to set up the appointment. We met with him yesterday and he's super cool! When we talked about the apostasy, he shared about how he's always had questions that are very similar to the things Joseph Smith wondered about, and when we explained that the reason we have so many churches on the earth is because the priesthood was lost, he just went, "Sisters, that makes so much sense!" and then pretty much explained to us how that would cause confusion. It was very cool. Some people are just really prepared.
Favorite Funny Moment:
Sister Trujillo and I were having dinner with a member at an outdoor Mexican restaurant where they had a bunch of kinds of tacos a few days ago. (They were really good, by the way.) Sister Trujillo got up to go throw something away, and she almost stepped on a pigeon that was hanging out right by her. The pigeon was, of course, a little flustered, so it flapped a bit to get out of the way, but it was Sister Trujillo that was terrified. She screamed and jumped about ten feet in the opposite direction. Apparently she doesn't like pigeons. ; )
Other stuff:
If ever any of you want to keep missionaries from knocking on your door, make sure that your no soliciting sign mentions religion specifically. Otherwise, it isn't going to keep us away, because we're not selling anything. We run into a few people who get a little upset about it, but this week we knocked into this Jewish guy who got SUUUUPER mad about it. He threatened to call the bishop on us. ; )
Again, since next Monday is Memorial Day, my next P-day is a Tuesday.
I hope everybody has such a great week!
Love,
Sister Garfield

Waiting for the Elders to show up

You definitely don't see this in Utah. ; )

Our lovely parking situation. We can't leave until we call the Elders and ask them to move their car.

Us Dying on the floor between calls

...And happy about it

The cool rock formation that reminds me of Saint George
