...I Really Need To Be Better At Coming Up With Funny Titles ;-)

Hey Everybody!

Favorite scripture/quote:
3 Nephi 18: 32 "Nevertheless, ye shall not cast him out of your synagogues, or your places of worship, for unto such shall ye continue to minister; for ye know not but what they will return and repent, and come unto me with full purpose of heart, and I shall heal them; and ye shall be the means of bringing salvation unto them."
This may seem a little random, but it has a point, I promise. It even goes with one of my favorite spiritual moments for the week. I liked this scripture from the perspective of a missionary, because it lets me know that whether a person will accept the gospel or not is not up to me. It's their agency. But that doesn't mean that I don't still have a responsibility to share the gospel with them. I may not be the missionary that helps them to change their life, or even the one who touches their heart enough to help them begin to soften it. But they still deserve that chance. Because someday, they may have that change of heart. They may decide to return and repent and come unto Christ. So I want to give them every possible opportunity to do so that I can.

Favorite spiritual moment:
We were knocking yesterday and ran into a lady who goes to Grace Baptist church. When she told us that, it sent up immediate warning signs, because every person any of us have met so far that goes there has been a huge basher. She seemed to be trying to go about the subtle bash at first, but we just answered her questions with testimonies of Jesus Christ and by promising that God answers prayers. Something touched her heart, because then her questions changed. By the end of it, we were able to give her a pamplet and she even said she might come to church. No bashing at all. It was super cool. I am so grateful for the spirit.

Favorite funny moment:
(Just as a little bit of background info, the Hermanas underwent an emergency exchange a few weeks ago, so Hermana Sleight is very new to the area.) I was on exchanges with some Hermanas this week, doing Spanish work. Their area is actually our area too, so I knew my way around, I just didn't know where any of their investigators lived. One of them (who just got baptized on Saturday!) actually lives in the house right next to our apartment, so I was trying to find parking since we had been somewhere else and had the car, and asked if I should just take the spot a few blocks away. Hermana Sleight said no because they usually can get a little closer, and I ended up finding one right across the street from the house. When I got out of the car though, Hermana Sleight started walking up the street. I was confused, but followed her, figuring that I'd just misunderstood and that it wasn't right next to our apartment. Once we'd walked a full block north though, I just asked her where we were going, and she said "to your apartment." Apparently she hadn't realized that that's where I parked. I told her, and she was super surprised. We walked back, and my laughter grew as I watched her just about die laughing. Apparently she'd been really confused as to why I'd still parked "so far away" and everything. It probably isn't that funny to read, but it was hilarious in the moment.
Other stuff:
We are getting smartphones this week! It's so freaking weird. ; )

At the car wash. It's called Dapper Dan's, and every time I'm there, I think of that movie "Oh Brother, Where Art Thou?" or whatever it's called.

These are not Nilla Wafers....

They're freaking deep fried Oreos. ; )
(And holy crap, they're so good. There's a guy in our ward who used to be a chef, and he made us some for dessert when his family had us over the other day. I felt like I was gonna die though. ; )
